Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor for our Texas outpatient program. The role focuses on guiding patients through medically assisted treatments and building coping strategies to address opioid use disorder.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress, and coordinate with doctors and nurses to optimize patient outcomes. The position emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaborative care delivery.

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in Texas.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatment and opioid addiction techniques.
• Conduct individual and group counseling for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to achieve outcomes.
• Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services throughout treatment.
• Establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Deliver counseling services in a trauma-informed manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed! Position Overview:

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patientsin trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in the state of Texas
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
