Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers in Louisville, KY seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments and counseling.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, develop treatment plans, perform bio-psychosocial assessments, coordinate with medical staff, and help design aftercare. A Kentucky credential is required; EMR experience preferred; background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Kentucky state credential: TCADC, CADC, CADCI, CADCII, LADC, or LCADC.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental and accepting attitude.
• Knowledge of EMR is preferred.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Description

Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients in achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake process
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitate, establish and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Complete a bio‑psychosocial assessment
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must hold a TCADC, CADC, CADCI, CADCII, LADC, or LCADC in the state of Kentucky
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus
• Must demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Knowledge of EMR preferred
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
