Job summary

A progressive substance use treatment organization in Ohio is seeking a Licensed Substance Use Counselor. The role involves assisting patients through medically assisted treatments for opioid addiction, conducting individual and group sessions, and evaluating patient progress. Candidates must hold relevant Ohio certifications and demonstrate a positive attitude towards patients. Qualifications

  • Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW.
  • Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
  • Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients through medically assisted treatments for opioid addiction.
  • Conducting individual and group sessions for crisis management.
  • Evaluating patients’ progress and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Providing counseling services and coordinating treatment.
  • Completing bio-psychosocial assessments.
  • Developing aftercare plans and discharge plans.
  • Ensuring delivery of trauma-informed counseling services.
  • Deliver counseling services in a trauma-informed manner and perform related duties.

Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed!

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to assist patients in achieving overall outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
  • Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
  • Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
  • Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan.
  • Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
  • Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans.
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
