Leggett & Platt in Morris, Illinois, is seeking a chemical handler to move skids of chemicals, identify substances, and operate blending and weighing equipment at the Henschel station. You will ensure proper labeling, PPE use, and a clean, safe work area while contributing to ISO9001 and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves calculating batch and bag requirements, following work orders, and maintaining accurate records in a compliant environment.

Responsibilities

• Use of hand truck to move skids of chemicals
• Capable of identifying different types of chemicals
• Fill and operate the feeder system at the Henschel blender and small adds station
• Operate the Henschel blender to mix chemical blends
• Use digital scales for weighing chemicals
• Determine which Henschel blend is needed per work order and calculate how many batches are required
• Determine which small adds are needed per work order and calculate how many bags are needed
• Know the proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment required for this position
• Properly labels all containers of chemicals
• Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards
• Commitment to ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement
• Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system
