Job summary

Tilley Distribution Inc in Norwood, NJ is seeking a Compounder to blend, mix and prepare batches following written specs to maximize output while complying with cGMP, FDA, and customer requirements. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of compounder experience; forklift training can be provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a Compounder.
  • Forklift certified a plus, but will train.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process batches in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all required chemical processing equipment, pipes, pumps and tanks.
  • Staging and transferring chemical raw materials.
  • Preparing and operating chemical compounding equipment.
  • Transferring batches.
  • Follow written procedures to ensure that all documentation, records and logbooks are accurately completed and in accordance with GMP.
  • Maintain proper sanitation, housekeeping, and GMPs to meet BRC Global Standards for Food Safety and FDA regulations for the Blending/Compounding of all products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of compliance with hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ensure compounding areas are maintained in a clean and well-organized state.
  • Operate forklift according to safe operating rules at all times.
  • Operate and troubleshoot chemical processing equipment such as mixers, pumps, and scales. Request equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
  • Other related duties as assigned which may include drumming and blending

Job description

Engage in day-to-day blending, mixing, and preparing batches in accordance with written specifications/procedures to ensure maximum output at optimum efficiency and in compliance with government regulations, cGMP practices, company policies, and customer specifications.

  • Physical: Must be able to walk throughout the plant, to include walking and climbing up/downstairs and ladders (portable, fixed). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Sensory: Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.)
  • Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
