Job summary

PrideGlobal in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Chemical Compound Manager for a 12-month contract in a hybrid role (2-3 days onsite). You will register and manage chemical compounds, maintain inventory, and develop SOPs to ensure data quality and sample integrity.

This position requires a Bachelor's in Chemistry with at least 3 years of compound management experience, hands-on with registration platforms (BIOVIA, Dotmatics, CDD Vault, ChemAxon), and experience working with CROs and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • At least 3 years of compound management or related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with compound registration platforms and EL systems.
  • Experience working with CROs, vendors, or compound logistics networks.

Responsibilities

  • Register and manage chemical compounds in electronic databases, ensuring accurate structures, metadata, and traceability.
  • Maintain compound inventory, storage, distribution, and shipments to internal teams, CROs, and external collaborators.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and training while ensuring data quality and sample integrity.
  • Manage CRO/vendor operations, resolving issues related to logistics, packaging, metadata, and shipments.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, turnaround time, and operational quality.

Job Description

Russell Tobin is partnering with a global pharmaceutical organization to identify a ChemicalCompound Manager for an opportunity near Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities
  • Register and manage chemical compounds in electronic databases, ensuring accurate structures, metadata, and traceability.
  • Maintain compound inventory, storage, distribution, and shipments to internal teams, CROs, and external collaborators.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and training while ensuring data quality and sample integrity.
  • Manage CRO/vendor operations, resolving issues related to logistics, packaging, metadata, and shipments.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, turnaround time, and operational quality.
Skills
  • Working knowledge of chemical structures, nomenclature, compound handling, storage, and laboratory safety practices.
  • Experience with compound registration software such as BIOVIA, Dotmatics, CDD Vault, ChemAxon, or an equivalent platform.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry a related scientific discipline; an M.S. or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in compound management, medicinal chemistry support, pharmaceutical research operations, or a related scientific environment.
  • Hands-on experience with compound registration platforms, electronic laboratory systems, and inventory management databases.
  • Experience working with external CROs, vendors, or compound logistics networks.
Preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and database or inventory-tracking applications. Some experience in python scripting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automated compound storage and retrieval systems and high-throughput screening support is preferred.
Additional Details
  • Location model: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite)
  • Position Type: 12-month contract with potential to extend
  • Pay range approved: $40/hr - $49.50/hr dependent on experience/qualification
