Job summary

SGS, based in the United States, seeks an assessor to perform bluesign®-driven evaluations and follow-ups. You will prepare assessments, conduct onsite visits, write reports, and drive compliance improvements across facilities.

Occasional travel to Canada and Latin America may be required. The role requires engineering or science background, knowledge of regulatory affairs, and strong English writing skills, plus Spanish proficiency for multi‑cultural collaboration.

Qualifications

• Educational background: engineering/ natural science/ technical degree, ideally textile related (e.g. textile engineer, chemical engineer, environmental scientist or similar)
• Knowledge in the field of product stewardship, classification and labelling as well as regulatory affairs
• Knowledge in the field of chemistry and/ or plastic industry manufacturing
• Knowledge in the fields of environment, health and safety and prior experience with auditing
• Professional experience requested
• Good English skills (especially written)
• Fluent in Spanish
• Good communicator, who enjoys working in teams and in multi-cultural settings
• Team player with proven ability to work independently
• Ability to work under pressure and with good time management
• Ability to exercise good and fact‑based assessments

Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The company assessor performs assessments according to the bluesign® criteria as well as the follow‑up for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional Information

Compensation

The expected salary for this position is $70,000 to $83,000 per year. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
