Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an experienced SDS authoring and hazard classification professional to join our team. The role focuses on assessing chemical hazards, authoring Safety Data Sheets, and maintaining SDS inventories in line with GHS and country-specific requirements.

You will provide advisory support on hazard reduction options and interpret toxicology data for accurate classifications. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field, at least 3 years of experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in product hazard classifications and SDS authoring using authoring software.
• Ability to interpret technical data and apply weight of evidence to reach defensible classifications.
• Experience with regulatory requirements (EPA, SARA, IARC, Prop 65) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical hazard assessments for products and mixtures per GHS and country requirements.
• Author and maintain SDS documents using SDS generation software.
• Review regulatory designations and warning statements on SDSs and related docs.
• Interpret lab reports to inform hazard designations and take follow-up actions.
• Develop and maintain weight-of-evidence files and monitor regulatory changes for NA.
• Identify potential chemical reactions and validate key products with R&D.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety data accuracy.
