Job Description
Under the supervision of lead cooks or the Sous Chef, assists in preparing menu items by chopping vegetables, making salads, soups, sauces, and assembling entrees. Provides work guidance to kitchen staff to ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are met and exceeded.

- Deliver exceptional guest service in line with the Pinnacle Way. Maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor, politeness, and courtesy in interactions. Actively seek opportunities to assist guests and team members. Be sincere, genuine, knowledgeable, and responsive to needs and questions.
- Learn and familiarize yourself with all Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s room outlets and cook functions, and be able to answer general questions about the property.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond with a sense of urgency.
- Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare food according to established menu plans.
- Wash, slice, peel, and cut foods for cooking or serving.
- Test foods for doneness using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods.
- Supervise the kitchen to ensure work procedures, quality standards, and menu specifications are followed.
- Engage with guests during buffet line interactions, explaining products, asking questions, and building positive relationships.
- Coordinate and communicate orders with dining room staff.
- Prepare food items accurately and promptly.
- Complete all prep work as indicated on prep sheets.
- Maintain sanitation, safety, and effectiveness of all areas and equipment.
- Follow Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, temperature control, and cleanliness.
- Attend scheduled training programs and complete all assigned duties, including opening and closing tasks.
- Pass all training and testing requirements to maintain necessary knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Handle difficult guests professionally and work harmoniously with coworkers.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent execution of standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Understanding and application of sanitation procedures.

Compensation
$15 per hour.
