Job summary

Canteen, a part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a growth-minded Chef Manager to lead our business dining café and catering operations. You will oversee culinary and service excellence, manage client relationships, and ensure flawless execution of café service and events.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of culinary management experience in business dining or contract foodservice, strong food cost controls, and a proven ability to lead and train teams while upholding HACCP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of culinary management in business dining, contract foodservice, catering, or restaurant operations.
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, food cost controls, purchasing, and inventory management.
• Experience managing corporate catering and special events.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with exposition cooking preferred.
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service operations.
• HACCP knowledge required; ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead culinary operations including inventory, purchasing, ordering, and receiving
• Manage daily café operations and onsite catering programs
• Develop menus, control food costs, and maintain quality and presentation standards
• Build and maintain strong client/customer relationships through exceptional service and responsiveness
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Manage budgets, P&L performance, and operational efficiency
• Train, coach, and develop team members
• Promote sustainability initiatives and utilization of local products
