Job description

About VK Capital Ventures Inc.

Runs Travel Villa Kitchen — a Houston chef co‑op, cooking‑class and private‑dinner company (plus Six Rows Coffee and Farm2Chef, our farmer‑chef marketplace). We are hiring Chef Instructors to teach our fall season: hands‑on cooking classes, workforce‑readiness sessions, and farm‑to‑table dinners where the instructor teaches the menu through the night. Our instructors are working chefs who love showing people how to cook — not lecturing at them.

Responsibilities
  • Teach scheduled cooking classes and workforce‑readiness sessions from the season program (class assignments follow our Fall 2026 Master schedule).
  • Lead Friday farm‑to‑table dinners, teaching the menu to guests through the service.
  • Cook for and instruct at private chef dinners and group experiences as assigned.
  • Run your station's setup and breakdown, and keep food‑safety standards (gloves, hair restraints, clean stations) for yourself and any students.
  • Coordinate with the event contact (Community Coordinator) on timing, headcounts, and menu needs for each shift.
Qualifications
  • Professional cooking experience; teaching, training, or demo experience a strong plus.
  • Comfortable leading a room of adult learners while you cook.
  • Reliable transportation to class and event locations across Houston.
  • Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain before your first class).
  • Houston‑based.
Schedule

Per published class/event schedule, Fall 2026 season (Oct 2026–Jan 2027) — evenings and weekends included.

Benefits
  • $25/hr for all teaching work.
  • A season of booked classes and dinners — no client hunting.
  • Work inside a chef co‑op with a farm‑to‑chef supply network behind your menus.
