VMCH is seeking a part-time cook for our Sunshine aged care home. Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, lead food services staff and ensure nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs.

You’ll work with residents, families and the care team to provide a high-quality dining experience. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher, with Food Safety Supervisor Training and staff supervision experience, plus

The Position

Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen, leading food services staff and ensuring residents receive nutritious, appetising meals that meet their dietary, cultural and texture‑modified requirements. You will work closely with residents, families and the broader care team to deliver a high‑quality dining experience.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher.
• Food Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) including HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 and HLTFSE007.
• Experience working in a food services environment with demonstrated staff supervision experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service excellence.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently when required.
• Experience in aged care or an understanding of the needs of older people will be highly regarded.
