Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond to customer questions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify store management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify the department/store manager of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict calmly and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support through interactions with minors and vulnerable groups.
