Plant Manager

Glanbia – St Johns, Michigan

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic leader to lead our 24/7 Cheese Plant, driving continuous improvement in Engagement, Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Operational Excellence. This role involves developing leadership that fosters a zero-loss work culture, ensuring product safety and quality, and aligning activities with company policies, goals, and objectives. This permanent, full-time position will report to the Site Director and is fully onsite. Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  1. Lead and inspire plant employees to achieve a zero-loss work culture, ensuring safety and product quality.
  2. Manage all aspects of plant operations, including budget, output, and continuous improvement.
  3. Meet production goals related to yield, quality, and customer specifications.
  4. Minimize losses within the cheese plant through strategic management of resources.
  5. Ensure safety and environmental compliance in day-to-day operations.
  6. Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  7. Organize and develop Production Managers and Team Leaders.
  8. Uphold the culture of zero losses and compliance with all safety and food safety regulations.
The Skills You Will Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including email, record keeping, and various software applications.
  • Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and delegate effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and proactive team efforts to achieve company goals.
