Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is seeking a Production Operative Worker for our Paynesville, MN facility. The role focuses on assembling barrels, handling hoops, liners, and packaging steps on a fast-paced dairy production line.

You will operate forklifts, weigh and palletize barrels, and ensure strict safety, sanitation, and quality policies across the plant. Prior forklift certification and a high school diploma are preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must hold a valid forklift operator license.

Responsibilities

• Assemble barrels inserting hoops and liners.
• Place barrels onto the line, moving to the press.
• Remove hoops and press plates upon exiting the chamber.
• Seal bags and taping of barrels.
• Weigh, tag and palletize barrels.
• Use forklift to move pallets into the cooler.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, supplies in bagging and work areas throughout the plant.
• Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.
• Adhere to all company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
• Assist with training new employees.
• Provide assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures.

Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
