Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is seeking a packaging/line operator at its Minnesota facility. You will assemble barrels, place items on the line, seal bags, and palletize finished goods, while using a forklift to move pallets to the cooler.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble barrels inserting hoops and liners.
  • Place barrels onto the line and move to the press.
  • Remove hoops and press plates upon exiting the chamber.
  • Seal bags and taping of barrels.
  • Weigh, tag and palletize barrels.
  • Operate forklift to move pallets into the cooler.
  • Maintain housekeeping and sanitation in bagging and work areas.
  • Maintain proper documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, GMP and quality policies.

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  • This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  • Assemble barrels inserting hoops and liners.
  • Placing barrels onto the line, moving to the press.
  • Removing hoops and press plates upon exiting the chamber.
  • Seal bags and taping of barrels.
  • Weigh, tag and palletize barrels.
  • Use forklift to move pallets into the cooler.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, supplies in bagging and work areas throughout the plant.
  • Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping
  • Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
  • Assists with training new employees.
  • Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  • Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  • Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
