Job summary

El Super – South Gate is hiring a Checker to join our Store Operations Team. You will assist customers, process sales quickly, operate the cash register, and help safeguard company assets.

Based in South Gate, CA, the role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 pounds, and delivering friendly service in a fast-paced grocery environment. A basic PC/Outlook is helpful; Retail Management Certificate is a plus. Starting rate is $16.90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
