Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX, is seeking a Checker – 003 Houston-Spencer Hwy to join our Store Operations Team. You will support front-end operations, process sales quickly and accurately, and help maintain a welcoming environment for customers.

Candidates should read and write Spanish and English, have basic PC/Outlook skills, and be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Prior retail experience and a Retail Management Certificate are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook and POS systems beneficial.

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.
