Magnit Global is seeking a Check Fraud Detection Specialist to review alerts and transactions flagged as potentially fraudulent. Location options include Newark, DE or Phoenix, AZ with a rotating hybrid schedule. Expect working at least one weekend day per month.
You will open cases, investigate suspicious activity, and escalate when needed to mitigate losses. Banking operations and/or contact center experience preferred; strong computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Salesforce) are required.

Hours: 11am-8pm EST /8am-5pm PST working a rotating hybrid schedule which will require working at least 1 weekend day a month.
The Check Fraud Detection Specialist will review alerts/transactions that are flagged as potentially fraudulent or out of pattern based on the client's normal activity. Alerts and/or transactions may consist of various payment types, and colleagues in this department are tasked with reviewing and verifying these alerted transactions via outbound and/or inbound calls, in addition to initiating dispute claims. This position will play a key role in the prevention of losses to the client and its clients. The Check Fraud Detection Specialist is a position requiring banking operations and/or contact center knowledge, and a general knowledge of fraud identification and prevention.

Open cases/claims on all suspicious activity and appropriately investigate and escalation when needed.
Detect various fraud schemes (email compromise, elder abuse, counterfeit checks, ATO, etc.) and characteristics of red flags, performing additional duties as assigned.
Perform defined mitigation steps to reduce financial loss to customers and the bank.
Complete assigned duties within daily deadlines efficiently, timely, and with minimal supervision to meet KPIs and SLAs.
Detect fraudulent transactions and maintain a minimal error rate in a high-volume, high-risk (large dollar) department.
Perform fraud alert review activities by following standard scripts and procedures.
Review/decision alerts in Fraud application, working independently while applying operating guidelines to make informed independent decisions.
Consult with senior peers and team leads on moderate to complex issues to learn through experience.
Work in a fast-paced environment that demands excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Communicate complicated or sensitive information to customers and other outside parties in a timely manner.
Preferred 1 year of experience in check fraud investigations, disputes, and/or fraud exposure.
Preferred 1 year of general office, back-office banking, or accounting experience.
Advanced computer experience required (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, and Excel and Salesforce).
Preferred 1 year in banking operations or contact center experience.
Must work well in a team environment, as well as independently.
Bachelor's degree is a plus.
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $20.00/hour - $26.00/hour
