Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a reliable Chauffeur, DOT to transport residents in a community setting. You will drive a van or bus (16+ passengers) and support social activities, ensuring passenger safety and comfort.

The role requires a Class C license with passenger endorsement and DOT-compliant physical, plus CPR/First Aid certification. Responsibilities include assisting residents during boarding, helping with mobility devices, and maintaining vehicle readiness.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to activities, appointments, and outings with high customer service.
• Assist residents onto/off the vehicle, belts, walkers, wheelchairs, groceries, and packages.
• Maintain vehicle upkeep, fueling, basic preventative maintenance, and cleaning.
• Coordinate transportation for events or activities as needed.
• Pickup and deliver mail, supplies, equipment, and resident/agency parcels as requested.
• Complete and log daily Driver Activity and Vehicle Reports as required.

Job Description:SummaryThe “Chauffeur, DOT” is responsible for driving the community van or bus (including vehicles transporting 16+ passengers) and assisting in managing social activities for the residents in and out of the Life Plan Community; Provides excellent customer service to residents.Responsibilities1. Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments and other outings; Provides assistance to residents to include boarding and leaving the bus, assistance with seat belts, walkers, securing wheelchairs, groceries and packages2. Responsible for the general upkeep of the vehicle including: fueling vehicle and conducting preventative maintenance on vehicle to include oil level, tire pressure and delivering vehicle to authorized service facility; Keeps the vehicle clean3. May be assigned the responsibility of assisting the Lifestyle Enrichment Director or Service Coordinator by coordinating transportation for events, activities, appointments, etc.4. May be assigned the responsibility of picking-up and delivering mail, supplies, equipment, and both resident and agency parcels, as requested5. May be required to complete and log daily Driver Activity and Vehicle Reports according to prescribed procedures for their location6.
