Peterbilt Motors Company in Denton, Texas is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing engineering support for chassis and powertrain systems from design through launch. You will ensure manufacturability, reduce costs, and drive product quality.

Collaborate with Design Engineering for DFMA/DFMEA, develop and validate processes, and coordinate with suppliers and production plants to ensure successful launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering support for chassis and powertrain systems, ensuring manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness throughout product development and launch.
• Partner with Design Engineering to provide DFMA input, participate in design reviews, and support DFMEA/PFMEA activities.
• Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing processes for chassis and powertrain systems.
• Drive manufacturing readiness and successful product launches by coordinating activities with suppliers, engineering teams, and production plants, including prototype, pilot, and production builds.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, ergonomics, automation, error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), and RCCA.
• Manufacturing Systems Implementation: Develop and deploy tooling, equipment, material handling, and supplier-supported manufacturing solutions.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner and collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers to ensure effective execution and communication throughout product development and launch.
• Manufacturing Technology and Traceability: Support adoption of manufacturing technologies that improve process control, quality, traceability, and operational performance.
