Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company in Denton, Texas is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to investigate, design, develop and analyze vehicle attributes such as cab structures, chassis, steering, suspension, engine integration and electrical components.

You will apply engineering methods, support production, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to DFSS, FMEA, DVP&R while coordinating with PACCAR divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and initiate complex designs and conduct necessary research.
• Complete design projects through planning, concept development, calculation and analysis.
• Create CAD models and drawings using Windchill and Creo.
• Apply knowledge of stress analysis and FEA.
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for vehicle chassis components.
• Support DFSS, FMEA, DVP&R activities and project reporting.
