Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation seeks an Chassis Design Engineering Manager to oversee the Chassis Engineering Design group, ensuring alignment with current production needs and future programs. You will supervise salaried design engineers and manage multiple projects while ensuring robust, cost-effective, manufacturable designs that comply with regulations.

Lead in ICE powertrain, emissions technology, and DFMEA, collaborating across functions to hit quality targets, budget constraints, and on-time

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Chassis Engineering Design group in forward model development for ICE powertrain and chassis systems.
• Act as technical subject matter lead for ICE powertrain and emissions technology.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; apply to improve designs and production efficiency.
• Review engineering drawings and projects for technical accuracy and feasibility.
• Establish system level requirements and DFMEA and develop robust validation plans for each vehicle platform.
• Collaborate with other functions to deliver new projects on quality targets, within budget and on time.
• Lead the team in ongoing issue resolution, quality improvements and cost optimization.
• Develop team through coaching, goal setting and performance feedback.
• Deliver solutions that meet program goals, all applicable specifications and quality expectations.
• Ensure designs meet all applicable Federal, state, and customer requirements.
