Job summary

Choice Schools Associates is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead a portfolio of Michigan charter schools. The role focuses on developing school leaders, driving academic excellence, and strengthening board and community relationships.

The Superintendent will oversee MTSS, ensure programs align with charter contracts, and guide ongoing strategic initiatives while traveling to assigned schools across Michigan. A strong background in education leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current Michigan School Administrator Certification or enrollment in an MDE-approved School Leader Preparation Program leading to certification within six months of employment.
• Successful experience as a teacher and school leader.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and developing educational leaders strongly preferred.
• Michigan charter school leadership experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop Exceptional School Leaders: coach, mentor, supervise, and evaluate assigned school leaders.
• Drive Academic Excellence: ensure progress toward academic goals and fidelity to educational models; MTSS in place.
• Build Strong Board & Authorizer Relationships: manage relations with boards, authorizers, and stakeholders; support renewal/authorization processes.
• Strengthen School Culture & Community Relationships: promote mission-driven, student-focused cultures; engage families and community.
• Oversee Operations, Finance & Compliance: monitor budgets and align operations with policies; support safety and compliance.
