Grand Valley State University seeks a School Liaison to serve as the primary contact between the university and its charter schools, delivering governance guidance and data-informed support to boards and school leaders.

The role emphasizes building strong relationships with chairs and administrators across three Michigan regions, driving charter contract compliance, student outcomes, and equity through collaboration and training.

Formación

• Master’s degree in relevant discipline is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of full-time post-master’s experience in leadership or management in K-12 education.
• Strong understanding of the K-12 educational landscape, including policy and systems.
• Experience providing professional learning and support to diverse school audiences.
• Experience using data to analyze systems, diagnose challenges, and develop strategies for improvement.
• Ability to provide actionable feedback to improve programs.
• Commitment to equitable access and improving outcomes for historically underserved students.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment; make well-reasoned recommendations.
• Proven track record of building trusting relationships with stakeholders quickly.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently with proactive communication.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the main point of contact between the school and charter authorizer.
• Represent GVSU at board meetings, academic events, and charter-related activities.
• Build relationships with school leaders, boards, and partners to support problem-solving.
• Collect and report data to monitor school health and accountability.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address weaknesses.
• Coordinate appointment processes for charter school board members.
• Design and conduct training for charter school board members and staff.
• Perform other duties as required by leadership.
