Job summary

Emily McCarthy is opening its first permanent Charleston location on King Street. We seek an experienced Store Manager to lead the team, deliver a warm, personalized shopping experience, and uphold our GOLD Standard.

As a hands-on leader, you will recruit, coach, schedule, and ensure store operations and performance align with brand standards, while building relationships with the Charleston community.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of retail leadership experience.
• Strong coaching, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with daily store involvement.
• Passion for personalized styling and hospitality.
• Experience managing schedules, payroll, and sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop the Team: recruit, hire, onboard, and train team members; provide coaching and feedback; maintain presence on the sales floor; create schedules; manage attendance and payroll; foster professionalism and accountability.
• Deliver an Exceptional Client Experience: ensure warm welcomes and personalized shopping; uphold GOLD Standard; develop product knowledge and client relationships; lead clienteling and follow-up; address concerns professionally.
• Drive Store Performance: own sales goals; monitor KPI like conversion and AOV; communicate trends and store priorities; collaborate on launches and events; balance service with sales expectations and expenses.
• Oversee Daily Store Operations: maintain organization and visuals; manage inventory and replenishment; ensure opening/closing procedures and cash handling; address daily challenges; maintain a safe environment.
• Build Our Charleston Presence: represent the brand with warmth; build relationships with customers and local businesses; identify partnerships and events; coordinate with leadership and Marketing.
