Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Charge RN for the PCU at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. This PRN/day shift role supports a 36-bed PCU with telemetry and stroke-care responsibilities in a Magnet-designated facility.

The role requires a Nursing Diploma or ASN, Texas RN license, BCLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS within 90 days, and 1 year of acute care RN experience (PCU experience preferred). Perks include 401K, EAP, tobacco cessation, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license for Texas.
• BCLS required prior to patient care and updated quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year RN experience in acute care required; 2 years preferred.
• PCU experience strongly preferred.

Department Highlights

• 36 bed PCU Department; Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4 depending on acuity
• Patient population: intermediate /telemetry level of care for the post-acute stroke, general medical, endocrine GI/renal patient population

Here’s What You Need

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS – within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required
• 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
• Current PCU experience strongly preferred
