Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Charge RN for the Operating Room in Los Angeles. You will lead the healthcare team, direct staffing, and coordinate operations to ensure high-quality patient care in a safe environment.

The role emphasizes mentorship and adherence to standards while supporting staff in a busy surgical setting. Ideal candidates will have 1 year of acute hospital OR experience, California RN licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited or NLN approved RN program.
• 1-year recent experience in an acute hospital OR, circulating on a variety of surgical procedures in multiple specialties.
• Current Registered Nurse License in California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct, review, assign, and organize the work of at least three employees, including another Registered Nurse.
• Provide professional leadership and direction to maintain efficient delivery of patient care.
• Coordinate departmental operations and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
• Participate in activities related to patient flow, including admission and discharge processes.
• Conduct audits to ensure thorough documentation of assessments and care plans.
• Adjust staffing needs to assure quality patient care and safety.
• Act as a role model for staff in providing exceptional patient care experiences.
• Participate in resource allocation and assist with staffing and workflow management.
