Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking a Charge Nurse on the 12 Hour Night Shift to oversee shift operations, lead a nursing team, and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care on the 7S cardiac telemetry unit focused on heart failure management.

New graduates can expect VAD training after six months; experienced nurses will receive training after orientation. This role requires active RN licensure in Iowa and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher preferred.
• 12 months RN experience required; 24 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops staffing plans and ensures alignment with patient acuity and volumes.
• Oversees daily operations and interdepartmental coordination during shift.
• Leads staff orientation and education to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Provides clinical leadership and mentors staff to deliver safe, effective care.
• Collaborates with physicians and administrative teams to resolve issues.
