Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification current.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire and current.
• BSN preferred; RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS within 30 days of hire for pediatric units.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary supervisory figure for Med/Surg nursing staff during shifts, ensuring optimal care delivery and efficient patient flow.
• Assess patient conditions, prioritize needs, and allocate resources effectively for timely care.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, providing guidance and performance feedback to maintain a cohesive team.
• Serve as liaison between physicians, nurses, patients, and families with clear treatment plans and patient status.
• Ensure readiness to respond to emergencies, coordinating with medical teams for critical interventions.
• Implement hospital policies, maintain patient safety standards, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Location: Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX

We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Charge Nurse, also referred as a Med Surg Charge Nurse or Charge RN. The charge nurse oversees the efficient functioning of the Medical Surgical units, balancing administrative duties with patient care. This Registered Nurse manages staffing, assigning duties based on skill and patient load while providing guidance and support to the nursing team. Charge nurses manage complex care cases, resolve conflicts, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare policies, all while fostering a cohesive, efficient team environment that enhances patient care.
