Job summary

Qualifications

• ADN or Nursing Diploma (or foreign equivalent).
• Two (2) years RN experience in an applicable clinical specialty.
• Registered Nurse license AZ or compact state.
• American Heart Association certifications: CPR, ACLS, PALS.

Responsibilities

• Mentors others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, NPSG, and in-service education.
• Provides direct patient care to meet department needs.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches staff to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Handles ethical dilemmas and coordinates Ethics Consults.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Services Charge RN, you’ll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with your department’s operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident, an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups, and comfortable holding tough conversations while leading staff performance. You will provide rapid, individualized, comprehensive care, making swift assessments, performing skilled procedures, and implementing urgent patient care plans for patients of all ages—from minor injuries to life‑threatening emergencies. You’ll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team—including physicians, advanced practice providers, paramedics, and support staff—contributing to a high‑pressure yet rewarding environment focused on immediate stabilization and optimal patient outcomes.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), and participation in in‑service education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of patients and the department.

• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate of Nursing (ADN), Diploma or foreign equivalent.
• Two (2) years RN experience in an applicable clinical specialty.
• Registered Nurse: AZ or compact state license.
• American Heart Association certifications: Basic Life Support – CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Preferred

• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
• Previous Charge Nurse experience.
• Previous experience with personal computers.
