Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a night shift, full-time Medical Surgical Charge Registered Nurse. You will coordinate and deliver patient care across the Med Surg unit, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires current NJ RN licensure, BLS, and strong leadership abilities to support a busy, patient-centered team. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to develop care plans and monitor patient progress throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse with New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care.
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians, nursing supervisor/manager, and coworkers.

Day in the Life of a Med Surg RN

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary and communicating changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing


• Registered Nurse (RN) with New Jersey Board of Nursing.


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.


• Prior charge/previous leadership experience


• Prior acute care experience in a hospital setting
