Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead a nursing unit within our Alameda facility. You will coordinate daily administrative duties, supervise staff, and ensure care quality and policy compliance.

You will conduct rounds, coordinate admissions/discharges, participate in care planning, and guide team members in clinical techniques. Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking are essential, with CPR on file.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN program graduate
• Current nursing license in good standing
• Experience in long-term care preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide patient care per standards and procedures
• Critical thinking to develop nursing plans of care
• Knowledge of nursing principles and standards of care
• Willingness to supervise staff
• Proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking)
• Valid CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily administrative duties of an assigned nursing unit
• Provide supervision and support for nursing staff
• Monitor compliance with facility procedures and regulations
• Maintain safe and effective shift operation
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Conduct daily rounds and implement nursing interventions
• Guide direct care staff for proper technique and policy adherence
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings
• Ensure infection control practices are followed
• Respond to emergency situations
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory standards
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Communicate with patients and families regarding care
• Coordinate with medical staff and other departments
• Conduct regular meetings to identify and improve service quality
• Review staff performance and provide evaluations
• Cooperate with QA and HIPAA requirements
• Attend meetings and maintain ongoing nursing skills
