Job summary

The Charge Nurse position at Kaiser Permanente in West Linn oversees a nursing unit for a shift, coordinating care and supporting staff to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.

Under supervision of the Nursing Coordinator, the Charge Nurse supervises personnel, manages staffing, engages in staff development, and acts as a liaison between staff and leadership to ensure safe, efficient unit operations.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of RN experience, with at least one year in a clinical specialty.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• High school diploma or GED.
• RN license in the state of practice; ACLS, BLS; NIH Stroke Scale within 1 month.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing personnel and participate in staffing decisions.
• Coordinate staff meetings and monitor staffing utilization.
• Provide guidance during emergencies and problem solve between shifts.
• Deliver and facilitate patient care using the nursing process.
• Educate staff and serve as a resource in area of specialty.
