HMR Veterans Services in Walterboro, SC seeks a Charge Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing activities of staff and CNAs in compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• RN degree or approved RN program graduate with active RN license.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in healthcare.
• Trained in rehabilitative and restorative nursing; familiar with current nursing practices.
• Knowledge of long-term care laws and regulations.
• Proficient in English communication.
• Able to lead staff with professionalism and tact.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise CNAs and nursing staff to ensure proper care delivery.
• Manage admissions, transfers, discharges, and orientation of new residents.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and care plans; document physician orders and medication records.
• Administer medications per orders and verify resident identity.
• Collaborate with physicians on care plans and conduct rounds.
• Update care plans daily and ensure staff follow them.
• Provide care including wound care, vital signs, and end-of-life care as needed.
• Ensure safe environments; enforce PPE usage and infection control.
• Participate in inspections and regulatory compliance; maintain resident rights.
• Meet with residents and families to address concerns and document followups.
• Coordinate with dietary and therapy departments for cohesive care.
• Lead trainings and continuing education on safety standards.
