Job summary

Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee, FL seeks a responsible Registered Nurse to serve as Charge Nurse, guiding care per physician orders and supervising CNAs and LPNs. Florida RN licensure and CPR certification are required; long-term care experience is desirable.

Training is provided for candidates with less LTC exposure. The role involves coordinating resident care, documenting orders, and communicating with physicians to update plans.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in Florida as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• CPR Certification required.
• One year of long-term care experience desirable; Med-Surg or Home Health helpful.
• Willing to train on the job if lacking experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning resident care by following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders.
• Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
• Administer medications, IVs, shots, update patient records, provide emotional support and patient education.
• Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
• Monitor vital signs and perform basic diagnostics as needed.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate doctor visits and transportation for residents; schedule labs and transcribe results.
• Supervise CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse and ensure care plans are followed.
