Job summary

AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque is seeking a Full-Time Charge Nurse (RN) for days with ICU/step-down experience. You will supervise nursing staff, communicate with physicians and staff about changes in patient condition, and respond quickly to alterations in treatment.

Direct patient care may be required based on staffing and patient acuity. The role requires acute care experience, NM RN licensure, and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure for the state of New Mexico.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal nursing laws.
• Strong interpersonal and human relation skills.
• Detail-oriented computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises patient care by RNs, LPNs/LVNs and CNAs.
• Communicates with physicians and staff about clinical changes.
• Responds quickly to changes in patient condition and treatment responses.
• Fosters a positive hospital milieu and keeps executives informed.
• Provides direct patient care as needed based on staffing and acuity.

Full-Time Charge Nurse, RN for Days with ICU/Step-down experience

Supervises the patient care activities performed by other RNs, LPN/LVNs, and CNAs. Communicate with Physicians/CCO/staff, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Responsible for fostering a positive milieu in the hospital. Keeps CCO and CEO apprised of situations that may place facility at risk. Provides direct patient care as required based on staffing and patient acuity.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of New Mexico.
• Acute care experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English. Must be able to articulately communicate, interpret and explain complex information and comprehend written and verbal communication.
• Additional languages desirable
• Detailed computer knowledge
• Possess excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.
