Job summary

AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque is seeking a Full Time Charge Nurse, RN for Days with ICU/Step-down experience. Supervises the patient care activities performed by other RNs, LPN/LVNs, and CNAs. Communicate with Physicians/CCO/staff, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of New Mexico.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Additional languages desirable
• Detailed computer knowledge.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises patient care activities by RNs, LPN/LVNs, and CNAs.
• Communicates with physicians and staff about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.
• Maintains a positive milieu in the hospital.
• Keeps CCO and CEO apprised of situations that may place facility at risk.
• Provides direct patient care as staffing allows.
