Job summary
VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, DE. This full-time/part-time role requires supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality care, and maintaining compliance with nursing standards within the facility.
The Charge Nurse will advocate for patients, lead by example, and coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care. A valid RN license and CPR certification are required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Active RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Possesses CPR certification.
- Remains knowledgeable about state nursing laws/regulations.
- Completes initial and annual clinical competencies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise one shift and share 24-hour responsibility for nursing staff.
- Participate in recruitment and orientation of nursing personnel.
- Attend in-service training programs and staff meetings.
- Develop and implement unit policies and procedures with Nursing Director.
- Schedule and participate in performance evaluations for nursing staff.
