Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a qualified Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. The RN will monitor heart rhythms, interpret ECGs, and respond to emergencies for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, in a 29-bed unit with strong cardiology collaboration.

Eligible experienced candidates may receive a $30,000 sign-on bonus; Missouri RN licensure is required; BLS and ACLS are required within 6 months.

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Missouri RN licensure required.
  • BLS certification at hire; ACLS required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assess acute changes in patients on Cardiac Telemetry.
  • Monitor and analyze heart rhythms; interpret ECGs and note arrhythmias.
  • Intervene in emergency situations to support patient care.
  • Care for patients post open heart surgery, catheterization with stent, ablations, and other cardiac procedures.

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse like you to be a part of our team. Cardiac Telemetry nurses assess acute changes in patients. They monitor and analyze the heart rhythm of patients, interpret ECGs, note arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure. Our Cardiac Telemetry unit is unique in that our nurses take care of patients recovering from open heart surgeries, heart catheterization with stent placement, ablations, pace maker/AICD placement, cardiovascular surgeries and we are a comprehensive stoke/stemi facility.

Working in the cardiac progressive care units is a great way to build your critical thinking and skills. Nurses from our departments grow into areas such as ICU, cardiac cath lab, EP lab, or leadership. The leaders of these departments work with you to ensure that they understand your goals and provide you with opportunities to learn more about positions you may be interested. We work collaboratively with other departments in the facility to ease any transition you are interested in making. Typically nurses are able to successfully progress to other positions or departments in 18 to 24 months. No matter what your goal is, your leader will take an active approach to help you achieve it.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Current state of Missouri RN licensure required. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required. BLS certification required at hire and maintained. ACLS required within 6 months. Previous clinical experience preferred.
