Job description

As a Charge Nurse at Sheridan Medical Lodge, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care, working with a team of medical professionals, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents. You will be directly serving our residents with daily needs and our patients during their recovery. Our ideal candidate would be compassionate with a commitment to providing excellent care to our patients and residents alike.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas State license as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical care experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English due to Federal and State requirements for documentation.
  • Proficient in interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong rapport with medical staff, residents, and their families.
  • Skillful in communication, organizational, documentation, and time management.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles and techniques of professional nursing.
  • Familiarity in State and Federal medical regulations.
  • Knowledge base of Medicare and Medicaid is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervision to other nursing services and staff.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor residents' vital signs and assess their physical and emotional status.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and resident responses accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Work closely with physicians to develop and implement individualized plans of care for each client.
  • Collaborate with other nursing agencies to ensure continuity of care and to effectively implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide skilled nursing care as needed, adhering to the plan of care and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
