Job summary

Brattleboro Retreat is seeking an RN Staff member to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex nursing care. The role emphasizes clinical supervision of MHWs to ensure safe, therapeutic patient delivery.

The position requires Vermont RN licensure and may prefer psychiatric nursing experience. The incumbent will participate in crisis management, documentation, and ongoing care planning alongside nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license is required.
• Psychiatric nursing experience preferred (1 year) or 2 years in general nursing.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities for a given shift.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Provides nursing care including administration of medications.
• Demonstrates knowledge of specimen collection and toxicology testing handling.
• Contributes to a safe and therapeutic milieu in the care area.
• Documents crisis interventions accurately and communicates with the team.
• Performs constant/intermittent observations and safety checks as required.
• Participates in the multidisciplinary plan of care for patients.
• Engages in education delivery to patients and families.
• Contributes to Performance Improvement activities.
