Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Pedi GI/Neuro unit in the Tampa area. The RN - Charge Nurse will model professional practice, mentor staff, and serve as preceptor while coordinating patient care on the pediatric unit.

Requirements include RN licensure, BLS, and at least 2 years of RN experience with pediatric exposure. BSN or related degree or RN specialty certification is required within 7 months of hire, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS required.
• 2 years RN experience.
• Pediatric RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• RN - Charge Nurse demonstrates professional role modeling for the nursing team.
• Acts as preceptor and charge nurse, guiding new staff and colleagues.
• Leads and supports the pediatric GI/Neuro unit care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

• The RN - Charge Nurse is proficient in the care of a patient population utilizing effective managerial skills. Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team

• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team. Is responsible for developing self and team members and sharing organizational information

• The Charge Nurse performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse

Requirements:

• Required Education: BSN or BS Healthcare related field or an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.

Shift: Shift 1

Weekend Work: Every Other
