Job summary

USPI Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a motivated Charge Nurse to supervise OR staff and coordinate daily case flow for Gastroenterology procedures. Position requires weekdays only with no holidays or weekends; some early mornings or late evenings may be needed based on surgical schedule.

Qualified candidates hold a Texas RN license, BSN preferred, and 3+ years in surgery with BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
• Three (3) years’ experience in surgery.
• Current Texas RN License
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required
• CNOR preferred
• Independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the OR staff to provide a smooth flow of cases.
• Coordinates daily case scheduling in the OR with other staff to ensure smooth flow (OR & X-Ray).
• Prepares monthly call schedules.
• Coordinate, prepare, and conduct monthly OR staff meetings for all OR, radiology, and anesthesia techs.
• Communicates with physicians to resolve issues and improve case flow.
• Orders instruments and equipment for cases.
• Coordinate inventory quarterly in all areas of the OR.
• Assist with OR education and in-services.
• Prepare afternoon schedules for the next day.
• Supervise the evening shift and staffing for day end; includes Radiology.
• Coordinate repairs or ordering for equipment issues with physicians/vendors.
• Coordinate supplies and instruments with Materials and Sterile Processing.
