Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs seeks an OR Clinical Manager to lead the Surgical Services team, expedite the surgery schedule, and manage shift operations with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

You will collaborate with facilities and Biomed, investigate and resolve patient or staff issues, respond calmly to crises, and communicate decisions clearly to the team.

Qualifications

• RN license and OR experience required.
• California RN license and BLS certification required.
• Preferred: BSN, ACLS, CNOR, TNCC/TCAR.

Responsibilities

• Expedite the surgery schedule and manage shift operations in the OR.
• Investigate and resolve complaints from patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Collaborate with facilities and Biomed to address environmental and equipment issues.

The OR Clinical Manger is responsible for expediting the surgery schedule utilizing staff appropriately, for a specific shift, facilitating the day-to-day shift operations in the Surgery Department. He/she manages human resources at the unit level in a cost-effective manner. The OR Clinical Manager promptly and fully investigates and resolves complaints of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, advising management / administration appropriately. The OR Clinical Manager collaborates and works with facilities and Biomed to resolve issues related to the physical environment and equipment that may present a patient safety issue or a regulatory deficiency by entering appropriate work orders and communicating with facilities and Biomed staff in a timely manner. The OR Clinical Manager demonstrates the ability to respond and provide direction in changing workload during crisis and emergencies in a calm manner. The OR Clinical Manager communicates effectively with staff assisting with understanding of difficult administrative decisions. Access to all Patient Health Information for treatment purposes only

Qualifications

Required:

Clinical Manager RN experience required. Current OR experience required

Current California RN License

Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times)

Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience

Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner

Preferred:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

ACLS

CNOR

Previous management experience

TNCC or TCAR
