Kansas Christian Home is seeking a compassionate Charge Nurse to lead a team of caregivers and deliver high-quality resident care in a faith-based long-term care setting. The role emphasizes compassionate leadership, regulatory compliance, and ongoing collaboration with the healthcare team.

The Charge Nurse will supervise nursing assistants, coordinate admissions and discharges, and ensure care plans are consistently implemented across shifts.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license (State of Kansas).
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to supervise and support nursing assistants.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents per individualized care plans.
• Supervise, support, and mentor nursing assistants during shifts.
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Review and update care plans and discharge plans.
• Ensure accurate documentation, charting, and incident reporting.
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to healthcare providers.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulations.
• Participate in QAPI activities.

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care and supervising nursing assistants to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. This role promotes a positive living environment while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position
• Three 12-hour shifts plus one 6-hour shift each week (Wednesday)
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Starting pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
• Evening, night, and weekend shift differentials available
• Provide direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans
• Supervise, support, and mentor nursing assistants during assigned shifts
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Review, update, and implement care plans and discharge plans
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, charting, and incident reporting
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare providers
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal resident outcomes
• Foster a respectful, compassionate, and resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
• Long-term care experience preferred, but not required
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to effectively supervise and support nursing assistants
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations preferred
