Job summary

Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) for our Chaffee Nursing Center Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing community. You will provide frontline clinical leadership, supervise care teams, and ensure residents’ needs are met with professionalism and compassion.

As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee nursing services during shifts, maintain regulatory compliance, administer medications, complete assessments, and be a central communicator with families, providers, and leadership.

Qualifications

Strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with state and federal nursing regulations.
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee nursing services and clinical supervision during assigned shifts.
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
Supervise and guide nursing staff including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs.
Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
Communicate changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and leadership.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
Conduct rounds to ensure resident needs are met.
Report incidents and concerns promptly to leadership.

Your Role as the Charge Nurse (RN)

Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and exceptional resident care within our skilled nursing community.

In this role, you’ll oversee nursing services during assigned shifts, supervise caregiving teams, and ensure residents’ needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards. You’ll serve as a key clinical resource, supporting care delivery and fostering a safe, respectful environment.

Summary

The Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing clinical oversight and supervision of nursing care during assigned shifts to ensure quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.

This role guides nursing staff, administers medications and treatments, completes resident assessments, and serves as a central communicator between residents, families, providers, and leadership.

Charge Nurse (RN), RN Supervisor, Floor Nurse (RN), Shift Supervisor (RN), or Registered Nurse – Charge Role.

What You’ll Do

Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts
Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures
Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs
Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation
Communicate changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
Conduct routine rounds to ensure resident needs are being met
Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect
Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicated to leadership
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety

What You Bring

Licensure / Certification

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Experience & Skills

Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills
Familiarity with state and federal nursing regulations
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living preferred

Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
