Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a Charge Nurse to oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients in an acute care setting. You will mentor staff, ensure care standards, and advocate for your team while aligning with departmental goals.

The role requires RN with AZ license, BLS and chemotherapy provider credentials; ultrasound-guided PIVs/PICC experience is valued. You’ll lead with clear communication and accountability to drive quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona (AZ)
• Experience with ultrasound-guided PIVs and PICC insertions is preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• American Heart Association credentials desired
• Cancer Chemotherapy provider certification within 6 months is preferred

Responsibilities

• Mentor nursing staff and ensure competency, documentation, and plan of care
• Provide direct patient care as appropriate to patient needs
• Evaluate care and coach staff to improve outcomes
• Maintain standards of care and safety within the unit

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse, you’ll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department’s operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You’re an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It’s also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care
• Ensures standard of care is maintained
