Job summary

Texomahealthcenter is hiring a Charge Nurse – LVN or RN to lead care teams and oversee medication administration for residents. The role emphasizes supervising Nurse Aides, executing care plans, and maintaining accurate charts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will hold RN or LVN licensure in good standing, demonstrate strong communication, organization, and emergency response skills, and cooperate across shifts to support high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN in good standing is required.
• Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to organize workflows.
• Ability to respond efficiently to emergencies and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer Medications: properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
• Implement Care Plans: execute resident care plans in compliance with policies, federal guidelines, and orders.
• Perform Treatments: deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe Orders: accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
• Educate Support Staff: implement nursing policies and educate staff on resident care needs.
• Maintain Safety Standards: promote a safe environment by infection control and body mechanics procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
