Job summary

Amarillo Center for Skilled Care in Amarillo, TX is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (LVN or RN) for the night shift to ensure patient safety and high-quality resident care.

You will guide nurse aides, implement care plans, document care accurately, and collaborate with the team to maintain compliance with policies and physician orders. This role requires strong clinical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN in good standing
• Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills
• Strong communication and organization of workflows
• Ability to respond efficiently to emergencies and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
